CONCERTS by UNIVERS ZÉRO (1974-2005)


In 1973, Claude Deron and Daniel Denis, both former members of ARKHAM, which had folded the previous year, set up a new group, NECRONOMICON. By that time, apart from Deron and Denis, the group consisted of Roger Trigaux (guitar), Guy Segers (bass guitar), Patrick Hanappier (violin) and John Van Rymenant (sax), and, later on, Vincent Motoulle (keyboards). During this time Guy Denis (percussion) took part in some shows and rehearsals and Jean-Luc Manderlier (keyboards) was present only during rehearsals. NECRONOMICON is renamed to First UZ concert UNIVERS ZÉRO in 1974.

Due to several commitments Peter Van Den Bergue will ply with UZ only until the end of the year. Andy Kirk re-joins on keyboards but will only play with UZ after Peter departure.

Plans are made for a parallel acoustic version of UZ, only acoustic instruments with electric bass, with Peter Van Den Bergue instead of Andy on piano, no drum kit, just percussion. Plan postpone for unknown future.
